On behalf of the Coalition for the International Criminal Court (CICC), I want to convey our most sincere condolences on hearing of the death of Pascal Kabungulu Kibembi.  We are devastated by the reports of the horrible and violent circumstances. 

Our colleagues have reported that Pascal committed his life to ending impunity; our Coalition has lost one of its most dedicated members.  We join others in expressing the demand that the government authorities investigate and bring to justice those who have committed this awful act.

Human rights defenders in conflict countries know that their work is very important and very dangerous.  We honor those who make the supreme sacrifice in seeking a more just world.  Please convey the Coalition's sincere expressions of sorrow to Pascal's wife, family and friends. 

We must continue our work in his honor.
