Pierre NDAGANO arrested in Bideka/South Kivu.

Being an activist of human rights and a representative of the << comité de médiation et de défense>> at Bideka (CMD) Bideka, Pierre Ndagano has been arrested and detained on Saturday 07th May, 2005 by lieutenant André belonging to the FARDC.  This one acted as required by the head of the village Mr. Irenge Mushagalusa who allegedly said that the victim was behaving like a go-between of Héritiers de la Justice looking forwards demobilizing a child-soldier, Kadji Badandalika.

During his arrestation, he might have been handcuffed, humiliated, mistreated, and deprived of his possessions among which a portable phone (Motorola) by soldiers and policemen ordered to arrest him.

Mr. Pierre was finally released on Monday 9th May, 2005.The same lieutenant has obliged him to pay before 11th May, 2005 an amount of 50 U$ as the releasing on bail fees.

Therefore, Héritiers de la Justice thinks that no person has any right to impede any other person for nothing.  To the commandant of the << 10e région militaire>> and responsible of  CONADER, they should take care of the process of DDRRR as scheduled in the Democratic Republic of Congo.  Moreover, it condemns the above mentioned lieutenant whose behavior may strict actions done by activists in the process of DDRRR in south kivu.  Soldiers should also be disciplined so as not to harass people who have much suffered because of war, especially in Walungu territory.
