The
DR Congo opens its borders with Rwanda
after having closed them for 24 hours
The DRCongo has opened its
borders with Rwanda this October 27th, after having closed them
for 24 hours due to blows and injuries inflicted to Congolese who ventured
to go to Rwanda on October 21th, 2004.
According to our
investigation, these incidents followed the killing of a Rwandese citizen
on Wednesday October 20th, 2004 around 1a.m. The victim was
attempting, fraudulently, to canoe the Ruzizi river to the Congo carrying
some goods from Rwanda. The day after the unfortunate incident, Rwandese
civilians started to attack, indiscriminately, any congolese who entered
Rwanda. Miss Mulashe, one of the victims, was seriously beaten and
injured. She is currently struggling between life and death at a hospital.
Héritiers de la justice
calls upon both Rwandese and Congolese authorities to put in place
mechanisms of cooperation so as to end some revengeful behavior that have
been increasingly observed on both sides.
Héritiers de la Justice
appreciates the wisdom with which both Congolese and Rwandese authorities
settled the matter.
