About 3.000 rwandan soldiers are said to be
in
the
territory of shabunda, province of South Kivu.
In their memorandum of 13 October
2003 addressed to Mrs Irene KHAN, Secretary-general
of Amnesty International, the Human Rights
organizations of South-kivu had denounced the
presence, in the territory of Shabunda of the
Rwandan Patriotic Army.
Rwandan authorities continue to deny
this situation.
However, the lastest news from
Shabunda indicatet the présence of about 3;000
rwandan soldiers whose were previously based
localities of Tukumbi and Itemene,
would be now in Sanatorium, a building found
In the midth of the forest at about 7 kilometers
from Shabunda town and that served as an isolated
hopistal for patients of
tuberculosis.
Local authorities in Shabunda are
trying to convince the population that these
soldiers are the Banyamulenge.
Héritiers de la Justice
promptly asks the MONUC to enquire about this and
denounce it.
