Insurgent  Major Alexandres Mwami arrested in Shabunda,  in the porvince of South Kivu

In earlier March 2006, Major Alexandres Mwami who rebelled against the loyal forces of the DR Congo was arrested in Shabunda, in the province of South Kivu. Some days following his arrest, he was transfered to Bukavu where he will be prosecuted.

Major Alexandres is accused of having deserted his post in Kinshasa since the beginning of this year and fled to Shabunda where he settled. He also accused of many human rights violations against civilians in Shabunda including looting and illegal detention.

In its campaign against impunity, Heritiers de la Justice encourages the arrest by the congolese government of  Alexandres Mwami.

The organisation requests the same government to launch other operations aiming at arresting many other uncontroller soldiers such as General Laurent Nkunda in the North Kivu province and Officer Alunda of 1oth Brigade in Mwenga who are freely moving up to present.

However, Heritiers de la Justice denounces the bad treatment(walked naked) that Major Alexandres went through during his arrest. His arrest did not respect the human dignity as stated by the Congolese law.
