The civil society of Bukavu demonstrates against the creation of the territory of Minembwe

Wednesday 22.03.2006, the civil society of Bukavu, in the province of South Kivu organized a demonstration against the creation of the territory of Minembwe by the current government. Hundreds of people took part in the demonstration.

 

Escorted by the Police, demonstrators displayed banners on which it was written “We say “NO” “NO” to the conspiracy of the MONUC-Congolese government for splitting the province of South Kivu by planning the creation of so called “Minembwe Territory”.The civil society considers this act as a disorder and consequently unacceptable.

 

The procession moved from Place de l’independence to the post office under the rhythm of brass instruments invited for the event.
