The outcomes of the strike of Teachers belonging to Catholic Church’ schools in Bukavu.

 

The Bukavu primary school’ locals damaged by thousands of idle Pupils

 

On 9th Feb.2005 in the morning, the pupils of some schools just on strike have attacked the locals of the Bukavu primary school, the latter belonging to protestant Church by breaking glasses and damaging a part of the roof .They allegedly said that ,the school about is among the others which didn’t take part into the strike launched by Catholic schools since 03rd Feb.2005 to compel the government to take care of all the workers’salaries,and thus put an end to the system of paying the bonus on charging parents since primary school till university 13 years ago.

 

The situation becoming worse, the pupils of the attacked school had scattered.Cources have begun on 10th Feb.2005.

 

While facts were still going on, some teachers of the same school had been in contact with the office of Kadutu Commune so as to send policemen to the place and catch the attackers

 

Instead of policemen it was the commune delegation that arrived around 2 p.m for investigation just later after calmness reestablished by teachers.

 

The a.s.b.l Héritiers de la Justice condemns firmly such acts of violence and requires that the results of the future meeting, after that incident by the Kadutu Parish Priest with some catholic schools of the area, be publicly reported.

 

The Association requires the Congolese government to fulfill its civic duty by paying the salary of workers so as to avoid the overflowing which would come from tired spirit due to prolonged misery.
