Two
men, respectively Mubalama baba Moïse (a
night-
watch man)
and Hamedi Shabani (a
student at Institut Superieur
Pedagique de Bukavu) were
gunned down
by armed men
in the
night of
Tuesday 24 april 2007. This
horrendous scene happened in Muhungu
III, Ruzizi avenue, Ibanda Commune; in Bukavu.
On the same scene
Mr Gabriel Matumwabirhi Baguma, a
teacher at Fadhili high school, was
seriously injured after receieving bullets in both arms and in
the stomach. He was rushed to the General Hospital for
adequate treatement.
Our informants
mention that a group gun-men who attempted to break into
Ruhamya's house
around
20:40 p.m., but they were
dissuaded by desperate shouts and bangs of
neighbours who came the victim's rescue.
In their run, these
criminals
met Mr Gabriel Matumwabiri and shot him
after having asked him for a big
amount of money that he could not afford.
Alerted by gun
shots, the patrol police broke at the crime scene and
immediately pursued the criminals. After a heavy
exchange of fire all the gun men succeeded to run away. The
police did not succeed to capture one.
It
should be remembered that late
in the
night of
18 april 2007, unknown and armed people
broke into
Mr Ruben Katuruba's
(so
called Baba
Jeannine)
and killed him. The victim
was living at Major Vangu avenue, Cellule Cidasa N° 749, Panzi
Quarter, Ibanda Commune in Bukavu.
Four nights
earlier, on 14 april 2007, Mr Pierre Kayangambi was also
found dead living
in
Bizimana avenue, in Ibanda
Commune. His killers remain
unknown.
Héritiers de la justice
is very much concerned with the
high rate of insecurity in the town of Bukavu. Thus,
Heritiers de la Justice invites political and military
authorities to investigate
all these cases and preeceding ones in order to identify these
organised criminals and bring them to justice.
Besides,
Heritiers de la Justice asks the newly elected government
to speed up the building process of
a national army
and police, able to defend and protect people.
