South Kivu:

The Provincial Government dissolved by the Provincial Assembly

 

On Monday 12.11.2007, 22 Members of the South Kivu Provincial Assembly signed a motion and submitted it to the head of the Assembly requiring the provincial government to resign. 48 hours later, 35 Members of the Provincial Assembly met in an extraordinary session that ended in a vote for or against the motion.

 

After the examination of the ballot, 24 Members of the Provincial Assembly, or 68,57%, voted for while 11 Members, or 31,43% voted against the motion. Considering the results of the ballot, the provincial government of the South Kivu was declared dissolved by the elected representatives of the South Kivu population.
