Prayings and Demonstrations  In memory of Pascal Kabungulu in Kinshasa 

A mass in memory of Pascal Kabungulu a Human Rights defender murdered on 31/08/2005 at his family home in Bukavu south Kivu, occurred on Wednesday 03/08/2005 at the cathedral “ Centenaire Protestant” He was the executive secretary at Héritiers de la justice .

Several authorities and figures working in the domain of Human Rights ,have attended the cult, during which Mgr KUYE the Chairman of truth and Reconciliation commission, had insisted on the role played by late Pascal Kabungulu while still alive.

Mgr. SONGO called for an independent investigation  to establish the truth and severely rebuke the killers . That same night the participants to the cult also held a pacific demonstration that went from Boulevard Triomphal to the Palais de la nation. Demonstrators called for a law to protect Human Rights Defenders in the DR.of Congo.  The demonstration was stricted by the police at the lycée Moliere  before reaching Mandela cross road on le 24 Novembre avenue.

Briefly speaking, the Civil Society of Kinshasa as well as churches were all mobilized and made pascal Kabungulu a “ Hero “ in the Human Rights story of congo.

All of us, let’s wait for justice to be rendered and may guilty be punished.
